7 Days Central North Vietnam by motorbike offers a chance to ride roof roads in Northern Vietnam. You will have some of the highest (also most scenic) roads in Vietnam. In addition, friendly people, great food and guide service will make this an adventure of your lifetime.
Day 1: Hanoi – Nghia Lo. ~180 km, ~7 h.
Easy drive on sealed road. Drive through rural areas with beautiful rice field along the road before we head up the Hoang Lien range. In fact, this range is named after the most popular tree found in this area. Stay in a hotel.
Day 2: Nghia Lo – Than Uyen. ~140 km, ~6 h.
The road is wild and bumpy. Between Sapa and Hanoi, we will find an important mountainous massif, almost as high as the Fansipan: the Mu Cang Chai. From the top, we have one of the most beautiful views of North Vietnam.
Day 3: Than Uyen – Sapa. ~120 km, ~5 h.
Walk/ stroll in the morning. Then head to the direction of Sapa. You ride through one of the most beautiful mountain passes of Vietnam: O Quy Ho. Despite the short ride, this day is definitely the highlight of this 7 Days Central North Vietnam loop. In addition, you get back to night activities in Sapa after a few days.
Day 4: Sapa – Trekking.
Sapa and Bac Ha are now quite touristy. However, we can trek to Ta Van village where is dominated by Giay people. We pass Lao Chai village on the way and lunch could be in Lao Chai, Ta Van, or wherever we want. Moreover, the children will go together with you along the way. We stay O/N in a stilt house of Giay family, which is basic and rough.
Day 5: Sapa – Bac Ha. ~105 km, ~3 h.
The ride from Sapa to Bac Ha takes ~3 hours. We first ride down from Sapa to Lao Cai (34 km). Then ride up to Bac Ha (70 km) with stunning landscape. Finally, we check in Dang Khoa Hotel and have lunch. In the afternoon, we trek to Lung Phinh village (Phu La people). Stay overnight in Bac Ha.
Day 6: Bac Ha – Luc Yen – Vu Linh. ~180 km, ~6 h.
We start the ride from Bac Ha to Luc Yen, then ride on to Vu Linh in about 2 hours around the lake on a small road lined with palm trees and scenic mountain views. When in Vu Linh, it will be dark already. However, the welcome is exceptional and we hope you will not be too much tired.
Day 7: Vu Linh – Hanoi. ~180 km, ~6 h.
The road is easy and relaxing. We will avoid heavy traffic by taking this road.
