PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS

If you are travelling as a private group, the easiest way to manage your deposit and payments is to designate one person as the group’s payment coordinator. In other words, one rider collects the deposits from everyone in the group and sends us a single payment transfer. This can help reduce bank fees and make the booking process much simpler.

Bank transfers can be expensive because more than 80% of international transfers involve an intermediary bank, which may result in additional charges. In some cases, you may effectively be charged fees twice: once by your own bank and again by the intermediary or receiving bank.

Western Union Quick Cash Transfer used to be one of the easier, faster, and cheaper ways to send money internationally. More recently, however, we have found the service less convenient because of longer payment review and delivery times. Nevertheless, it can still be a useful alternative to a traditional international bank transfer.

Fortunately, we started accepting payments through VTCPay in late March 2017. At the time, VTCPay was one of the reputable online payment gateways in Vietnam. Its website used SSL security to protect credit card information during payment. Payments were required to be made in Vietnamese Dong (VND) in accordance with Vietnamese regulations, with the exchange rate calculated at www.xe.com. A 3% payment service charge was added to the total.

For larger payments of approximately US$ 1,000 or more, the 3% service fee can become a high additional cost. For this reason, we recommend comparing the available payment methods before completing a large Vietnam motorbike tour payment.

Option 1. Online Payment Gateway by Card

We will prepare a sample invoice based on your specific booking and send you a payment link.

Follow the link we provide, click “Checkout”, and enter the required information. You can pay using a credit card or online banking if you have a Vietnamese bank account.

If you have access to a Vietnamese bank account, online banking is usually cheaper because you can transfer the money directly to our VND bank account. Please see Option 3 below for more information about this payment method.

Once we receive your payment, we will send you a confirmation email containing the important information and instructions you need to prepare for your Vietnam motorbike adventure with us.

Option 2. Western Union Money Transfer® – Money In Minutes Confirmation

To save on international bank transfer fees, which are usually around US$ 25 – US$ 50, you can send your deposit through Western Union. Depending on the amount and sending country, Western Union may offer competitive transfer fees, generally around 2–10%, with a minimum fee of approximately US$ 5.

We are a trusted Vietnam motorbike tour company, highly recommended by many travel books, magazines, and previous customers. You can read feedback from our riders on our testimonials page. However, Western Union also has various warnings and recommendations regarding money transfers, so please make sure you understand the service and its conditions before sending your payment. Thank you for your understanding.

You can pay in your local currency when sending the money and select US dollars (USD) as the payout currency in Vietnam.

Please pay particular attention to the details shown in bold. Providing unnecessary information or making a spelling mistake can make the transfer message longer and may result in additional charges.

One of the most common mistakes is misspelling my given name. Please enter The Anh, not The Ahn.

Once the Western Union money transfer has been completed, you will receive a 10-digit MCTN (Money Transfer Control Number). Please send us the MCTN, the sender’s full name, the exact amount sent, and the location of the transaction.

Alternatively, you can simply scan and send us a copy of the Western Union receipt. We will use these details to collect your payment from a local Western Union agent as soon as possible.

We must present a valid identity card to collect the money. Therefore, nobody else can collect the funds on our behalf. The payment must be collected by Vu The Anh (known as Anh Wu), the owner of Offroad Vietnam.

If you choose to pay by bank transfer, please use your local currency from the list below if this helps you save on international transfer or currency conversion fees. Otherwise, we prefer to receive payment in US dollars (USD).

Important: Before making an international bank transfer, please ask your bank about all applicable currency conversion fees, international transfer charges, and intermediary bank fees. You should also check whether your payment needs to pass through a third-party or correspondent bank before reaching our Vietcombank account.

From our experience, approximately 80% of international transfers may pass through an intermediary bank, sometimes in the United States, such as Bank of New York or Bank of America, before reaching Vietcombank. These intermediary banks may charge additional fees, and you may not always receive advance notice of these charges.

To avoid unexpected costs, please check the total transfer fees with your bank before sending your payment. We recommend using USD, EUR, AUD, GBP, CAD, or VND for payments. Some customers have unfortunately experienced double charges when intermediary banks were involved.
