Based in Hanoi, Vietnam, we have been providing reliable Hanoi motorbikes for rent since 2006. Our rental fleet includes off-road motorbikes, touring motorcycles, and scooters, giving riders different options for exploring Hanoi and traveling throughout Vietnam. Most of our customers are foreign travelers, tourists, and expats who visit, work, or live in Hanoi. Since late 2006, we have focused exclusively on Japanese Honda motorcycles, choosing them for their reliability, durability, comfort, and suitability for Vietnamese roads.

When visiting Vietnam, many riders are surprised by the relatively high cost of manual clutch motorcycles and larger-displacement bikes. Vietnam officially allowed the importation of brand-new motorcycles over 175cc in May 2007, although second-hand imports are generally not permitted, except in specific circumstances for foreigners with valid working visas importing motorcycles for personal use. High import duties, including a 90% import tax, 10% VAT, and additional excise or luxury tax on certain motorcycles from 125cc, together with significant registration fees in Hanoi, can make larger motorcycles considerably more expensive than in many other countries. As a result, the vast majority of motorcycles seen on Vietnamese roads are automatic or semi-automatic scooters. This situation also makes it difficult for businesses offering Hanoi motorcycle rentals to maintain a large fleet of large touring bikes.

Our Japanese Honda touring motorcycles, designed for longer-distance adventures, and our motor scooters for Hanoi riding are all owned, maintained, inspected, and prepared by our own team. We understand what riders need because we put ourselves in your position before every rental. From routine maintenance to preparing each motorcycle for the road, our goal is to provide a safe, dependable, and enjoyable motorcycle rental experience in Hanoi. We love riding and operating our business, and we want our customers to enjoy Vietnam on two wheels just as much as we do.

Because we currently operate from one office in Hanoi, we unfortunately cannot offer one-way motorcycle rentals. All Hanoi motorbike rentals must therefore be collected and returned at our Hanoi location. This arrangement allows us to maintain better control over our motorcycles and ensure every bike is properly checked and prepared before being rented to the next rider. Honda Winner 150cc touring scooter, made in Vietnam between 2016 and 2018, is available at US$ 15/day, with better rates possible for longer-term rentals. This motorcycle is a good choice for riders focusing on flat roads, city riding, and highways. However, it is not designed for serious off-road riding. Its cast wheels and road-oriented setup are less suitable for rough, rocky, bumpy, or dirt roads, so we recommend choosing an enduro or dirt bike if your Vietnam itinerary includes challenging countryside trails or mountain tracks.

Honda CGL 125cc road bike, made in China in 2014, is also available at US$ 15/day. These motorcycles are exclusively available from our Hanoi motorbike rental shop, making them a popular option for travelers looking for an affordable and straightforward touring bike. The CGL 125cc is among our most popular Hanoi motorbikes for rent, especially for riders who want a simple motorcycle for exploring Hanoi, nearby countryside, and paved roads throughout northern Vietnam. For longer-distance travel, its practical design and easy handling make it a dependable choice for riders who prefer a traditional manual road motorcycle.

Hanoi Motorbikes For Rent, Usually Long-Term: Motorbikes (Moped Scooters)

We have been providing near-new and latest-model scooters for rent in Hanoi, focusing exclusively on genuine Honda motorcycles. We do not offer other brands or low-quality Chinese copies. When choosing a Hanoi motorbike rental, we recommend paying attention to the motorcycle model, year of manufacture, condition, and maintenance history, rather than simply choosing the cheapest daily or monthly price. Our rental rates may not always be the lowest, but they remain competitive for genuine Honda motorcycles, and we focus strongly on reliability and overall quality.

Our Honda semi-automatic scooters, including the Wave, Wave RS, Wave RSX, Blade, and Wave Alpha 110cc, were made in Vietnam between 2013 and 2018. The monthly rental rate is US$ 50, with a 1,500km monthly mileage limit. Please note that this rental option is intended primarily for commuting and riding around Hanoi. Unfortunately, we do not rent these commuter models for long-distance trips to the northern mountains or journeys from Hanoi down to southern Vietnam under unlimited-mileage arrangements.

In reality, these Honda models are among the most popular commuter motorbikes for expats living in Hanoi. They are economical, easy to ride, simple to maintain, and practical for everyday city transportation. For riders who mainly need a reliable motorcycle to commute to work, explore Hanoi, and travel around the surrounding areas, they offer an excellent balance between performance, fuel economy, convenience, and affordable rental prices.

Hanoi Motorbikes For Rent: Automatic Scooters

For riders who prefer twist-and-go convenience, we also offer fully automatic Honda scooters, including the Honda Air Blade and Honda Lead 125cc. These models were made in Vietnam between 2013 and 2015. The monthly rental rate is US$ 80, with a 1,500km monthly mileage limit. These scooters are particularly convenient for daily transportation around Hanoi because there is no manual clutch or gear shifting to worry about, making them easy to use in busy city traffic.

Please note that these automatic scooters are intended for riding around Hanoi and nearby areas rather than extended motorcycle adventures. We do not rent this type of scooter for journeys into the Northern Vietnam mountains or long-distance trips from Hanoi to southern Vietnam under unlimited-mileage conditions. If your plan involves mountain roads, rough countryside tracks, or a long Vietnam motorbike tour, we recommend choosing one of our more suitable touring or enduro motorcycles instead.

If you prefer something smaller, lighter, and easy to handle, the Honda Vision 110cc is an excellent option. The monthly rental rate for riding around Hanoi is US$ 60-80 per month, depending on the year of manufacture. The Vision is compact, economical, and particularly convenient for navigating Hanoi’s busy streets, making it one of the easiest scooters for commuting in Hanoi. For expats who need a lightweight and practical automatic scooter for everyday city riding, the Honda Vision is a very convenient choice.

50cc Scooters, No Licence Required

The 50cc scooter is the smallest motorcycle we offer for rent in Hanoi. There is nothing particularly special about this model, but it is extremely lightweight and easy to handle. Most importantly, under Vietnam’s current regulations, a 50cc motorcycle can be ridden legally without a motorcycle licence. Because of its small engine, however, it is not a powerful bike, and we recommend it for one rider only. The seat is relatively short, and the suspension is not designed to comfortably carry two people, especially over rough or uneven roads.

Surprisingly, 50cc scooters are not necessarily cheaper to rent than larger 110cc models. Because these small-engine scooters have limited availability and are not produced or sold in the same quantities as more common motorcycles, their purchase and rental prices can be relatively high. For long-term Hanoi scooter rental, you should expect to pay around US$ 50 per month for a semi-automatic 50cc scooter or approximately US$ 60 per month for a fully automatic 50cc scooter. They are therefore mainly attractive to riders who specifically want a lightweight motorcycle that does not require a licence.
